We believe in reaching all parts of the child and understand the importance of including our specialty subjects. St. Anne Catholic School is fortunate to provide instruction in art, computers, foreign language, music, and physical education. - Art instruction helps children with the development of motor skills, language skills, social skills, decision-making, risk-taking, and inventiveness.
- Technology integration and developing 21st century skills is a must and is taught beginning in Pre-K.
- Spanish class allows students to learn about different cultures, history, geography, and can be incorporated within our core curriculum.
- Musical training helps develop language and reasoning, mastery of memorization, sense of achievement, and increased hand-eye coordination.
- When regular fitness activities are included in the student's lifestyle, it is possible for them to maintain being fit. Physical education also allows students to learn more about overall health and nutrition.

Art
I love sharing my passion for art with my students! I introduce them to past and present artists and a variety of artwork all while getting creative and a little messy. I teach using the Elements and Principles of Design. In Kindergarten, we start with the very basics such as line, color, shape, etc. and build upon that knowledge each consecutive school year. We experiment with a variety of art materials and techniques to develop new skills. Then, we incorporate these skills with the knowledge the students already possess. The students learn about planning out a pleasing composition and creating from inspiration, as well as turning mistakes into masterpieces or as I like to call them, "happy accidents". I also like to incorporate other subject matters such as faith, science, literature, nature, etc. into my lessons.

Computers
K-4 Computers
The goal of computer class is to teach students skills in order to use technology effectively as a learning tool. All students learn positive social and ethical behaviors when using technology. This includes demonstrating responsible use of technology and being good digital citizens in the 21st century. Students learn basic technology terminology and skills. Our students are able to utilize iPads, Chromebooks, laptops, and desktop computers.5th-8th grade Technology:
In middle school, students will:- Develop typing skills through lessons and practice.
- Regularly utilize Google Suite applications: Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Drawings.
- Work collaboratively to use a variety of online and iPad applications to create multimedia projects.
- Select and use a variety of media formats to communicate information to a target audience.
- Learn and practice computer programming skills using Scratch.

Spanish
Students in K-4 are introduced to basic Spanish. The elementary Spanish program emphasizes written and verbal communication skills along with developing cultural awareness. Elementary students learn about various cultural traditions and celebrations of Spanish speaking countries.
The middle school program focuses on learning formal grammar to improve writing, speaking, and reading comprehension skills. They create various projects to practice their language skills and promote cultural awareness. Middle school students research different countries to learn about geography, history, government, religion, and culture.

Music
In Mrs. Bolton’s music class, students are encouraged to be themselves and grow in their musical knowledge base. She fosters structured creativity and has them continually using both sides of their brains. Students learn how to rise up through challenges and “mistakes” positively; to listen and show respect; to work well both independently and as a team. We explore multiple musical genres, styles, ensembles, historical influences, classroom instruments, composing, use proper terminology, and are engulfed in the language of music. Most importantly, we work hard and have fun!
